Rebreather Scuba is great with Drager's Dolphin Rebreathers

Dräger Dolphin Semi-closed Rebreathers

Experience Scuba diving as never before with a Rebreather! No noisy valves, no hissing air, no annoying air bubbles... just you, your rebreather and the silence of the underwater world.

What's special about Dräger's Dolphin Semi-closed rebreathers is that your exhaled gas is not released into the water as in conventional open circuit systems, but is purified and returned to the rebreather circuit. As a result, you can enjoy your Maui Scuba dive to the fullest - not only a longer dive, but also a completely undisturbed Rebreather Scuba diving adventure.

Dräger's Dolphin Rebreathers remove carbon dioxide from the exhaled gas through a soda lime cartridge and channels it into the inhalation bag, where it is encriched with fresh Nitrox from the supply cylinder.

Digagram of how a rebreather works

This constant supply of fresh gas ensures that you will always be provided with enough oxygen. Should you need more oxygen, due to great physical exertion, or if you need to clear your mask, a bypass valve opens automatically to supply additional fresh gas.

Another aspect of rebreather Scuba that you will enjoy is that the inhaled air is pleasantly warm and moist. This is because the chemical reaction involved in the absorption of carbon dioxide generates warmth and moisture, eliminating "drymouth" and making the Rebreather Scuba dive a more pleasurable experience.

Go Scuba Diving all Weekend.... without having to haul a car load of extra tanks. Because the Dräger's Dolphin Rebreathers feature optimal reuse of the exhaled gas, your gas consumption drops by up to 90%, meaning that a 4 or 5 litre cylinder can last for a whole weekend of Rebreather Scuba diving.

Air tank for rebreathers

The Dolphin Rebreathers use Nitrox, a nitrogen-oxygen mixture. With Nitrox, your breathing air contains less nitrogen. You can stay down longer because the non-decompression times have increased. How long you can dive, how often and how deep is all a question of mixture with Dolphin Rebreathers. The variable oxygen-nitrogen mix ratio offers you enhanced capabilites. In order to ensure that you learn how to take full advantage of these features, proper training for rebreather Scuba is essential. Pacific Dive offers a three day Rebreather course that is very practical for the recreational diver. Upon completion of the course, Dräger Dolphin or Ray rebreathers can be purchased through Pacific Dive at a discounted student rate. For more information just email us at Pacific Dive about our Rebreathers.
